In addition to it's obvious attraction as a ski resort during the winter months, Bansko is also a great place to visit during the warmer months from June through to September.

The Pirin National Park combines breath-taking views with excellent opportunities for hiking and sightseeing, including a plethora of beautiful lakes, waterfalls, caves and historical sights.

In summer hiking is popular with well organised routes ,and mountain bikes can be hired locally in order to aid further exploration of this beautiful region. Local companies can organise trips in the mountains e.g. white water rafting, canoeing, paragliding. Also in summer the town hosts a week long jazz festival and other events.

This is also a great base for historical sightseeing; the famous Rila Monastery is within reach as are other historical remains, from ancient burial mounds to Roman amphitheatres (car required).
