AIR
The nearest International Airport is the one in the Bulgarian capital Sofia. Bansko is situated approx. 100 miles South East of here.

Flights are currently operated by scheduled airlines such as Britsh Airways, Bulg Air, .... 

Currently discount carriers are limited to Whizz Air but some great offers are to be had starting at just £1 each way (plus taxes).  We're expecting the emergence of further low cost routes in the not too distant future (watch this space...).  From the UK, in particular, the flight time is 3.5 hours and routes include LGW-SOFIA with BA or STN-SOF with WhizzAir.  It may also be worth checking availability with BH Air (the provider of chartered services to Balkan Holidays).

ROAD
The Transfer time from Sofia to Bansko is 2 - 2.5 hours which will only improve over the coming years with the emergence of the new highway from Sofia.

This can be arranged through the many private hire companies providing chaufeurred cars or by hiring a car yourself.  For the more budget conscious, buses can also be used however the transfer time is greater.
